Connecticut Governor Rell signed into law a bill enacting civil unions for gay men and lesbians. The law goes into effect on October 1st.
As I have noted previously, Connecticut's civil unions law is an ambivalent advance for gay men and lesbians, since the Connecticut legislature appended to the bill an express definition of marriage as being exclusively between one man and one woman, the mantra of the anti-marriage-equality set.
