In Connecticut, same-sex couples may soon join in not-quite-matrimony, while in Spain, land of machismo, gay men and lesbians will soon be able to marry. However,
"The Spanish Bishops Conference, which has opposed the bill from its conception, says it goes 'against the common good' and that it was 'unfair that real marriage should be treated the same as the union of persons of the same sex'."
Ah, yes, and it is so obviously unfair that straight persons should be denied the smug pleasure of presumptive superiority to gay and lesbian persons.
